Green Lake – Bitan 碧潭 (Xindian 新店, Taipei)

This is my first blog and my first post and maybe it is lacking some things here and there. Actually this was a suggestion of a friend of mine, she urge me to make a blog and wrote my trip. But I hope this post could help someone who is looking for some reference. 🙂

Couple of weeks ago (May 5th, 2013) I went to have a relax weekend in Taipei. Because Taipei is the easy place to reach from my house in Hsinchu. It’s about 1,5 hour by bus. It’s also the capital city of Taiwan that is actually comfortable for people with minimum Chinese language skill like me. In Taipei, most people can speak English compared to another area in Taiwan.

So from my town Hsinchu, I took How Tai bus which costs 130NT for non student passenger. The bus will go towards Taipei Main Station. When I reach Taipei Main Station then I got off the bus and went forward walking to MRT station which is in another part of the Taipei Main Station building. Then get in the MRT and move on to Xindian.

After I arrived at Xindian station actually it wasn’t clear where to go to find this river, until I found a woman who told me where to go. When she told me I was just got surprised because the river is actually around the Xindian station. It actually is on the side of the Station, but I couldn’t see it directly for there is a wall built to separate the station and the river. Just walk around 1mnt toward the wall and the stairs then u can see the river.

The river view was so nice. The water was clear and even though it was cloudy when I was there, thanks God it didn’t rain and I was able to spend hours there to enjoy the view and to have a relaxation moment. It was a joy and gratitude to be able to enjoy God’s work and creations.
It was amazing to see green trees with different variant color, and small rocks with different color and shape as well.
